The American Craft Council’s only Midwest show is returning for its 30th year to St. Paul RiverCentre April 8-10, 2016. The show will feature more than 225 of the country’s top contemporary craft artists presenting their latest handmade creations in jewelry, clothing, furniture and home décor. This year, show-goers will enjoy tastings from The Balvenie, handcrafted single malt Scotch whiskey and a variety of area microbreweries from The Beer Dabbler, as well as the return of Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft, Hip Pop and Let’s Make programs, along with a new on-site exhibition: Style Slam.

Hip Pop will highlight the creative works of the best and brightest emerging craft artists new to the show scene. Selected through a jurying process, emerging artists will be grouped into pods to debut their craft.

Let’s Make is an initiative that connects craftsmanship to craft by honing in on the actual process of bringing a conceptualized idea of craft to life. During the show, a variety of artisans will provide interactive demonstrations at “Inspiration Stations,” where show-goers will have the chance to participate in the actual process of creating a piece of artwork.

Style Slam is a new program designed to pair professional stylists with the talented network of ACC fashion wearable, accessory and jewelry artists to demonstrate how the statement pieces ACC is known for are the perfect fit for any fashion conscious wardrobe. This year’s Style Slam ambassador is Grant Whittaker of Grant Whittaker Design.
