Crayon Art

Christian Faur makes art from crayons, but not the way you’re thinking of. He dyes his own wax to make crayons, and then arranges them in a pattern he works out on the computer — each custom crayon tip becomes a “pixel” in the final work. Faur currently lives in Granville, Ohio and teaches at Denison University. His work is featured in the most recent issue of American Craft, which highlights forty artists using unusual mediums.
