Update: Chicago, you’re still on the list! Here are Andrew Knowlton’s top 10 picks from Bon Appetit’s list.

Last week, two new Minneapolis eateries, Borough
and World Street Kitchen, landed on Bon Appetit’s list of 50 nominees for the highly coveted
title of best new restaurant. Eight other Midwestern restaurants from Illinois,
Kansas, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin, joined them. Today the magazine will
whittle that list down to a final Top 10. Here’s hoping the Midwestern eateries
survive the chopping block!
