The Polar Wave ice plant in St. Louis has a new lease on life. The historic building, which dates back to 1924, will be transformed into 43 new apartments, with a rooftop deck that offers views of the city’s signature Arch and the downtown skyline. The plant has sat vacant for years, but a very modern makeover is in the works, including glass-walled apartments, skylights and an atrium.
